A handsome, vampiresque coat from the Comme des Garcons Homme Plus AW2006 collection, which was inspired by the "Teddy Boy" post-war British subculture in the early 50's, when tailors had to cheaply liquidate their unsold menswear, which was then unexpectedly adopted by suburban working class youth.
As the care tags notate, the edges on this coat are unique in that they are unfinished, and will continue to fray over time. Raw hems on a classic coat are about as iconoclastic as you can get with a piece of outerwear born out of a countercultural youth movement.
The coat is very slimming, as it is cut a bit fitted and also includes long sleeves and a center vent on the back. The lapels conceal a button, and can be turned up and fastened together for warmth and for a bit of a priest-like look. The material is soft and warm, constructed from 90% wool and 10% rayon. There are two outer and two inner pockets.
Size: S (can fit M)
- Shoulder: 17 inch
- Chest: 19 inch
- Length: 38 inch
- Sleeve: 25.5 inch
Condition:
The coat is in great used condition, though please be aware that there is light pilling throughout the garment, and the edges have begun to fray. As mentioned before and on the care tags ("This item has unfinished hems. The raw edges will fray with repeated wear and cleaning"), this was intended by CDG.
