The jacket to end all jackets from the iconic Helmut Lang AW1999 "Séance de Travail" collection, in amazing condition with all backpack straps and full original fur, which is hard to come by these days. Additionally, the ballistic nylon iteration of the Astro is highly coveted, a material introduced in WWII which is stronger than typical nylon due to its high-denier weave which maximizes the fabric’s durability and tear resistance.
The original Astro Biker jacket has withstood the test of time and is still one of the most influential pieces of outerwear due to its myriad of inspiration: from astronaut uniforms to motorcycle gear to military wear to skydiving equipment. The details are beyond impressive: wire-adjustable collar with drawstring and removable faux fur, backpack and carrying straps, biker detailing along the arms, an interior chest pocket, and four outer pockets. The ballistic nylon material is an unbelievable paradox: it's structured and tough, yet still light and unrestrictive of motion.
I've attached some runway pictures in addition to lookbook photos taken by Juergen Teller. For what it's worth, I'll mention that this is the jacket Travis Scott is stunting in the "beibs in the trap" music video, though it appears to be the moleskin iteration without the faux fur either missing or removed.
