Rare General Research backpack from 2000, including several parts that can be reworked and reconfigured to each user's preferred comfort. Very few of these were actually produced--the tags show that this particular backpack was the 778th one produced on January 2nd, 2000.
I've attached pictures of the runway presentation and a video excerpt (courtesy of @con.tumacy on IG), though I would highly recommend watching the video of the presentation as well, where the attendants were allowed to examine the garments and items themselves up close. The different bags and backpacks were designed to be completely interchangeable based on how the pouches are placed on the set of horizontal Velcro stripes.
Today, listings for the GR modular backpacks, especially the versions with Velcro straps, are very sparse as Setsumasa Kobayashi's attitude towards clothing was to produce quality over quantity, taking care in choosing precise manufacturers that were able to accept small series of production.
