Displayed is the highly sought after Comme des Garcons Homme Plus "Pink Panther" tee in a rare large size from 2005, featuring Pink Panther iconography on the front and back of the shirt. The t-shirt is constructed inside-out, meaning all screen-printing and tags are designed on the inside of the shirt. You may notice in the pictures that all seams are on the reverse side.
The SS05 Homme Plus show was not only a commemoration of the 40th anniversary of "Pink Panther", but also a quite literal interpretation of a world seen through rose-colored glasses ("Rose-tinted spectacles..." commented Kawakubo backstage at the show. The models, of course, also wore pink glasses). The show featured men stomping down the runway to Peter Sellers' movie soundtrack in groovy garments with '60s patterns reminiscent of Verner Panton; unmistakably, the clothes were almost always pink--no, not millennial pink, but hot, hot pink.
Though some pink garments from this season have received polarizing opinions, the Pink Panther tee from this season has grown to become a very desirable piece for fans of CDG.
